Potential Risks and Discomforts: |
There are minimal risks to you for participating in this study. You may feel some stress or anxiety from thinking about your experience with cancer. However, this risk is not considered serious. Loss of confidentiality is always a risk when people are participating. But we have taken steps to protect your confidentiality (see below). |
| Potential Benefits: What you can expect from being a part of the study. | You may not personally benefit from your participation in this research. However, your participation may provide valuable information on ways in which the African American community copes with the experience of cancer. |
| Alternatives to Participation: Other choices you may have: | Since there are no medical tests, procedures, or medications in this study, there are no other treatments. You may choose not to participate in this study. |

All procedures used in this study will be provided to you free of charge. |

You will receive a token of appreciation valued at $25 for your time. |
