The Administrative Core has directed its efforts on developing the infrastructure of the Center of Excellence on Health Disparities by focusing on the management, coordination and integration of center components, procurement of financial resources, and nurturing of critical partnerships.
The five major areas of focus are to:
  1. Develop an overall 5-year strategic plan for the Center, which will encompass the goals and objectives for each core component and the strategic action that will be implemented to accomplish the stated objectives. The plan will also detail the performance standards by which the progress of the Center will be tracked and measurable outcomes evaluated.
  2. Procure and manage resources necessary to carry out the strategic plan (i.e. grant writing, proposal development, research, informatics, etc.)
  3. Communicate and integrate the three components and the interface between the MSM components of the Center and the external community via seminars, retreats and symposia
  4. Develop data and data systems necessary to monitor the progress of various components of the plan
  5. Develop and nurture critical partnerships within the institution and between the institution and the community in order to assure success of the program plan
