Center Director
  Dr. David Satcher joined Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) shortly after completing his four-year term as the 16th Surgeon General of the United States in February 2002.  He also served as Assistant Secretary for Health from February 1998 to January 2001, making him only the second person in history to have held both positions simultaneously.

In December 2004, Dr. Satcher was named President of MSM, to go along with his role as the Director of the Center of Excellence on Health Disparities.

 
As Deputy Director of the Center of Excellence on Health Disparities, Dr. Sandra Harris-Hooker works closely with the component leaders and other research faculty, continuiusly developing and stabalizing lines of communication between the Center and the research community.  Dr. Harris-Hooker is also the Associate Dean for Research Development, which includes manageing a central unit within the Office of the Dean that works to
