The Morehouse School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
The Morehouse School of Medicine designates this continuing medical education activity for up to 20 hours in Category 1 credit of the Physician's
Recognition Award of the American Medical Association.
Howard University Continuing Education (HUCE) has been reviewed and approved as an Authorized Provider of Continuing Education and Training by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and has agreed to provide CEU's for the "Morehouse School of Medicine, Fifth Annual Primary Care and Prevention Conference, September 21- 23, 2005". Participants may receive a maximum of 2.0 CEUs for this conference.
Continuing Education clock hours will be offered for other health professionals by the Whitney M. Young, Jr. School of Social Work, Clark Atlanta University.

Conference Objectives
Upon completion of this program, conference participants should be able to:
-To report knowledge, the latest research, treatment protocols, and guidelines related to providing primary care to adults, children, and
adolescents.
-To implement strategies for community-wide application of evidence-based health promotion initiatives and approaches to translating
community preventive services from research to practice.
-To discuss and implement region-wide strategies that address the goals of Healthy People 2010.
-To explain solutions for eliminating barriers that prevent the translation of best science to practice for individuals and communities.
-To report the impact of health prevention on improving health outcomes and describe the role primary care practitioners play in incorporating prevention strategies into patient care.
