At the request of individual departments, and within regulatory guidelines, OIPS will sponsor foreign nationals at MSM in the non-immigrant employment classifications of H-1B (specialty occupation), TN (Trade NAFTA occupations), and O-1 (persons of extraordinary ability). Each classification carries with it its own documentary requirements and internal procedures at Morehouse School of Medicine. Other non-immigrant classifications, such as J-2 (exchange visitor dependent), F-1 pursuing optional practical training or curricular practical training, or J-1 pursuing academic training, allow employment authorization without direct sponsorship of the employer. Persons adjusting to permanent residence based on sponsorship by a previous employer may also be eligible for employment without MSM sponsorship.
