POSTDOCTORAL
FELLOWS AND TECHNICIAN POSITIONS
The
CVRI is seeking candidates for junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows
and technician positions in molecular cardiovascular and functional
genomic research (see www.msm.edu/cvri). The CVRI is a NIH-funded
Center of Excellence with state-of-the-art facilities. Our research
laboratories are pursuing leading-edge research that incorporates
genomic approaches to define the molecular basis of cardiovascular
function in health and disease. The Institute has various research
opportunities that include:
Gary
H. Gibbons :(CVRI Director): Molecular mechanisms
of vascular remodeling; the vascular transcriptome in hypertensive
vascular disease.
Leonard M. Anderson
:(CO-Director, Functional Genomics): The role of cell fate determinants
such as the Notch family in vascular biology and disease.
Qing Song:
Genetic susceptibility of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
Qinglin Yang:
Structure/function relations of cardiac myofibril proteins and molecular
mechanisms of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure.
Mukaila Akinbami:
The role of pressure on vascular dysfunction.
Methode Bacanamwo::
Transcriptional regulation of genes important in cardiovascular
biology.
Candidates
should have a strong background in molecular biology and/or experience
in cell biology and cardiovascular physiology research. Please contact
the CVRI by e-mail, phone or fax, E-mail:cvri@msm.edu;
Phone: 404-752-1545; Fax: 404-752-1042.
