The Inauguration of Dr. John E. Maupin Jr. Friday, March 23, 2007 at 10 a.m.

The Morehouse School of Medicine is proud to announce the Inauguration of the institution’s fifth president, Dr. John E. Maupin Jr., on Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of Morehouse College at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the E. Ginger Sullivan Atrium, located in the Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care on the campus of Morehouse School of Medicine.

We invite you to celebrate later that evening by joining us for the Inaugural Gala beginning at 7 p.m. in the Georgia Aquarium Oceans Ballroom in downtown Atlanta. The black-tie gala includes dinner, live music, dancing and entertainment by world-renowned recording artist Jeffrey Osborne.

Proceeds from gala ticket sales and donations will support the Morehouse School of Medicine Annual Fund, which helps provide need-based scholarships and technology enhancements for the library and classrooms.

Our opening activity, set for Thursday, March 22, 2007, is the Science of Disease Seminar Series, which will begin at 3 p.m., in the Louis W. Sullivan National Center for Primary Care auditorium. Continuing Medical Education credits are available. Following the seminar, a reception to welcome our guests will take place in the E. Ginger Sullivan Atrium.
