Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Morehouse School of Medicine. Our department provides education and training in obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, a four year board-approved residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and patient care at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, private patient care in our office practice and other hospitals, and research in women's health care

Our faculty members are made up of general obstetricians and gynecologists who provide primary reproductive health care of women, and subspecialty-trained maternal fetal medicine specialists who care for high risk and complicated pregnancies, gynecologic oncologists who provide care for gynecologic cancers, and reproductive endocrinologists who provide care for infertility and gynecologic endocrinology. Their clinical expertise and services are available to referring physicians and patients (further details available under the individual faculty profile). In addition to the regular basic core rotation in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the department provides special electives for medical students (see medical student education). We have a strong commitment to research in female reproductive health care, including basic laboratory research and translational clinical research. In addition to our M.D. faculty, we have two basic science faculties with appointments in our department.
