• Appoint, support, and assess the performance of the chief executive officer
• Ensure institutional integrity
• Ensure the institution’s performance is assessed
• Ensure the well-being of faculty, students and staff
• Ensure effective financial management
• Ensure adequate financial resources, including fundraising
• Ensure adequate and well maintained facilities
• Represent and advocate the institution to the community
• Interpret the needs of society to the institution
