Morehouse School of Medicine:
Thank You Letter Writing Campaign
More than 90 percent of our students need financial assistance to offset the high cost of medical school. That is why scholarships at MSM are invaluable.
Each September, students who are recipients of scholarships choose a day to gather with other classmates in the campus’ largest computer lab. Their assignment is to write thank you letters to the donors of their scholarships.
This year 109 students wrote 192 individualized letters are written to corporations, foundations and individuals during our 2005-2006 Thank You Letter Writing Campaign. The Thank You Letter Writing Campaign is a way to show our donors the importance of their gifts and how MSM and its students have benefited from them. The Campaign is also a way for donors to hear directly from their scholarship recipients.
The letters (usually one page in length) not only provide expressions of thanks to the donors, but sometimes they also give biographical information about the student and campus life.
