MISSION

To facilitate the improvement in health care delivery and outcomes for African American individuals, families, and communities through research, information dissemination, policy assessment, and advocacy.

PURPOSE

Plan and conduct research to evaluate the quality, effectiveness and appropriateness of health care on outcomes of African Americans, particularly in Georgia and the Southeast.
Disseminate healthcare effectiveness and outcomes research findings to health care providers and consumers.
Train researchers to plan and conduct outcomes and effectiveness research in collaboration with African American populations, to effectively disseminate research findings, and to advocate for appropriate changes based on empirical data.
Evaluate the impact of information dissemination on individual and institutional behavioral change and provider practice patterns.
