Philosophy of the
Department of Physiology

The Department of Physiology has as its primary goal imparting a background of basic physiological knowledge to medical and graduate students so that they may apply this information either to the practice of medicine or to the conduct of biomedical research.  It is also a goal of departmental faculty members to develop and maintain productive individual and collaborative research programs in the areas of their expertise, namely cardiovascular physiology, reproductive endocrinology, and the pathophysiology of gastrointestinal infectious diseases.
