CONGRATS TO MRS. TRAMMELL Mrs. Ella Heard Trammell, Chair of the MSM PRC Community Coalition Board was elected the South Regional Director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's PRC National Community Coalition. In this capacity she will bring leadership and a community perspective to advise the program, facilitate training of community members, and advocate for prevention research. She will work with fellow representatives to make recommendations about how the community committee can share information and better serve the individual PRCs, national PRC program and the Southeast region. Mrs. Trammell will serve this term through 2007.
PFIZER FOUNDATION UPDATE The Morehouse School of Medicine Prevention Research Center (MSM PRC) is pleased to announce a continued partnership with the Pfizer Foundation and its Pfizer Foundation Southern HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiative in 2007. The MSM PRC has entered into a $100,000 contract with the Pfizer Foundation to focus on the dissemination of its cross-site program assessment and evaluation capacity building activities conducted between 2004 and 2006 among community-based HIV prevention programs in the southern region of the United States. Activities will focus on the development of peer reviewed publications and presentations that highlight its evaluation processes and findings. The MSM PRC will also provide dissemination technical assistance to community-based organizations funded by the Pfizer Foundation in communicating and reporting results of their HIV prevention programs. Elleen Yancey, PhD serves as the Principal Investigator and Tabia Henry Akintobi, PhD serves as the project's lead investigator. |
