Research Interests

My research goal is to understand the cellular and molecular mechanism of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Understand the leakiness of IBD and block the leakiness using pharmacological agents.  Have created few animal models of spontaneous IBD.  I am also interested in blocking the stricture formation in esophagus due to ingestion of lye.  Creating a model of esophagus stricture and using proteomic and genomics to understand the players involved in the cause of stricture formation.  Hope to find new pharmacological agent to block the stricture formation as there is no know agent for the same.
