SHWC Behavioral Health Services

Empower. Believe. Become.

In support of the AUCC’s health equity mission, the SHWC now offers onsite Behavioral Health Services. Mental health is integral to our total wellness. While as important as one’s physical health, mental health can often carry a stigma, resulting in an avoidance of mental health care. At the SHWC, addressing the mental health needs of students is a priority. Our goal is to support students in developing healthy strategies to help them flourish personally and professionally while at the AUCC and beyond.

Our team is comprised of licensed professionals from various disciplines who draw upon a wide range of training and experiences in the field of mental health. A member of the SHWC Behavioral Health Services team will conduct an initial assessment followed by the implementation of an individualized treatment plan that addresses the student’s unique needs and concerns. This plan may include recommendations such as, but not limited to, brief individual therapy, psychoeducation groups, referrals to community providers for specialized treatment or longer-term support, case management services, or medication management. Contact our office at 404-756-1241 to schedule a confidential session.

In the case of a mental health emergency after hours, please call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225. This service is available 24/7.
